Doubling and halving is a very efficient method for multiplying. We started by doubling 5 and then halving the other number. So if you have a problem like 5 x 12 it can become 10 x 6 which is much easier to work out in your head. We have some students who can work out a problem like 246 x 5!
Drawing an array of rows of ten.
More arrays
Drawing circles in the arrays; we are cooperating.
These are the different arrays.
Mrs Lyn was showing the arrays to the students.
The students are watching and learning.
